Principal's Message….

As the school year comes to a close, our minds and hearts are filled. It has been a great year!

It has been an absolute joy watching your students grow and seeing all the hard work the students and teachers have put in this year! I love going into classrooms to watch all the wonderful teaching and learning that is going on. Each classroom has its own personality, and each classroom is achieving great things!

To those of you who are leaving us for new places and adventures, we wish you all the best. Congratulations to our very capable 5th graders, who are onto a new stage in their academic career. As you become ROBMS Bulldogs, remember you will always be a Collins Seahawk, make us proud!

As we prepare for the 2018-2019 school year, I encourage you to be actively involved in your child's education. It is essential in developing a strong partnership between home and school. Summer recess is full of opportunities for reading, learning through play, and even destination vacations. Children can learn anywhere!

This summer consider trips to places like a museum or a zoo that will be filled with learning opportunities. Living history sites may not be your first choice when it comes to relaxation, but when you combine your vacation with educational elements, your family is not only getting a fun getaway, but you are broadening your children’s horizons and allowing them to learn something that they won’t see at home or at school.

Whether you stay close to home or venture far away, we wish you a safe and happy summer, and look forward to your return in September, recharged, rejuvenated, and ready for another great school year!

 Your Principal,

Patrick Magee

Attendance Intervention

Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must call the school regarding student absence. Based on daily attendance, school officials will attempt to notify parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if a child is absent without explanation from parent(s) or legal guardian(s). Collins: 1-609-698-5832

When a student reaches the following number of days absent, these actions will take place:

Five Days

Parents receive a letter explaining attendance policy guidelines and return a signed acknowledgement. Parent conferences may be held. If parents do not respond to the first letter, a second letter will be sent via Certified Mail.

Ten Days

Parent in-school conference. Create Attendance Action Plan for improved attendance. If no improvement demonstrated, Principal may, at any time, make a referral to the Court Program Administrator of the NJ Administrative Office of the Courts.

Eighteen Days

Mandatory referral by Principal to the Court program for truancy and parents are informed that attendance will be a factor in promotion/retention.
